Tupelo, Mississippi is the birthplace of Elvis Presley and the reason for the title of this album. Tupelo contains 12 songs made famous by Elvis Presley re-interpreted and re-arranged by New York's finest jazz and pop musicians. Jeremiah James has been a Presley fan his whole life. When he was a kid his mother used to grease his hair back for him so he could look more like the KING. Yellow Sound Label and Jeremiah have turned that passion into a unique listening experience. We are proud to bring this ground-breaking album to the public. Our goal was to breathe new life into these iconic songs, and to bring them to a new audience.
Jeremiah has already enjoyed a great career in both Musical Theater and in the recording business. He is a member of the Sony singing group,"TEATRO". Teatro's first album went Gold no more than a month after it was released, making them one of the fastest selling singing groups of all time. But with this record, Jeremiah expresses his own voice. It is unique. It's a celebration of good music done right.
As a member of "TEATRO", he built a following and reputation internationally. This album is a reflection of Jeremiah’s innate ability to front a band. It contains some classic Elvis songs as well as some lesser known favorites of Jeremiah’s. Yellow Sound Label continues it’s commitment to providing new, cutting edge music to the public. We are proud to bring this album to both Jeremiah’s fans and music aficionados alike who enjoy quality records of its’ kind.
